My doctoral thesis is titled “Energy as the work of nature: the quandaries of sacrificial productivism in Chiloé, south of Chile”. In it I develop an argument to connect the morality of work and the valorization of energy through the idea of sacrifice, all this in light of the disputes around renewable energy infrastructure in the Chiloé archipelago.
Before my doctoral studies I worked on issues of social policies and state anthropology, and community management of natural resources. I have also been engaged in research into the socio-environmental and territorial dimensions of promoting the green hydrogen industry in Chile. I am currently project coordinator at Ciudadanía Inteligente, in the area of Incidence and Environmental Democracy
I promote the debate around Universal Basic Income and Degrowth from a feminist and anti-colonial perspective. I Pacto Ecosocial e Intercultural del Sur, the Chilean Basic Income Network (in turn part of the Basic Income Earth Network).
